Abstract

The article examines the main problems hindering the development of the agricultural processing industry, identifies their economic and institutional causes, and proposes solutions. The analysis substantiates the importance of applying innovative technologies and improving management mechanisms to ensure the sustainable development of the industry. The results show that the development of the agricultural processing industry plays a crucial role in ensuring economic sustainability, strengthening food security, and increasing employment in rural areas.

Purpose of the study: The purpose of the study is to identify the current development trends and problems in the agricultural processing industry and to analyze their economic and institutional causes. The study also aims to provide a scientific basis for developing effective management mechanisms to enhance the competitiveness and sustainable development of the processing industry. The results aim to contribute to the modernization of the sector by forming proposals that can be applied in practice.

Research methodology: The research is based on a systematic approach and covers a comprehensive analysis of the economic, legal, and institutional factors affecting the development of the agricultural processing industry. The study used comparative analysis, statistical data processing, and the examination of local and international experience. Through empirical observations and analytical generalizations, the current state of the industry was assessed, and scientifically grounded conclusions on development directions were drawn.

Practical significance of the study: The obtained results can be used in the preparation of development strategies for the agricultural processing industry and in increasing the effectiveness of state programs. The proposed solutions ensure the efficient use of resources, reduction of product losses, and improvement of competitiveness in the field. The results can also serve as practical recommendations for entrepreneurs and relevant institutions.

Results of the study: The main obstacles to the development of the agricultural processing industry are technological backwardness, infrastructure deficiencies, and inefficient management mechanisms. The analysis shows that the introduction of innovative technologies, strengthening of state support mechanisms, and optimization of the logistics system can significantly increase the competitiveness of the industry. The results also reveal the necessity of comprehensive reforms for the sustainable development of the sector.

Originality and scientific novelty of the study: The originality of the study lies in the systematic analysis of the development problems of the agricultural processing industry and their evaluation in both economic and institutional aspects. The scientific novelty is the proposal of new approaches to innovative management and modernization of the sector based on statistical and comparative analysis of the current situation. This approach provides a scientifically grounded conceptual framework for the sustainable development of the agricultural processing industry.
