The article analyzes the dynamics of labor movement and staff turnover in Azerbaijan’s industrial sector for 2020–2024 based on official statistical data. The study shows that although the number of wage employees in industry has increased, the dismissal rate has exceeded the hiring rate, particularly in manufacturing and water supply sectors where turnover has risen. Voluntary resignation is the main reason for job termination, largely influenced by wage levels, gender disparities, and working conditions. The average monthly nominal wage varies significantly across sectors, with the highest level observed in mining and the lowest in water supply. Considerable wage differences between men and women persist. Additionally, unsatisfactory working conditions in certain enterprises negatively affect workforce stability. The article proposes institutional and economic measures aimed at strengthening labor stability and reducing employee turnover in the industrial sector.
