This research analyzes the multifaceted impacts of digital transformation, a fundamental driving force of the modern global economy, on economic development. The article posits that digital technologies are not merely a technological innovation, but also a paradigm shift that creates profound structural changes in economic systems. Within the framework of the research, important aspects such as the reshaping of the labor market, the stimulation of disruptive innovations, the optimization of global value chains, and the rise of the data-driven economy are examined. The main analytical focus is on the fundamental differences between developed and developing countries in terms of the potential of digital transformation, the barriers to its implementation, and its final economic impacts. The research reveals the dual nature of this process – on the one hand, it creates unprecedented opportunities for economic growth and efficiency, and on the other hand, it deepens the risks of the digital divide and social inequality. Based on influential academic literature and reports from international organizations, context-adapted strategic policy recommendations have been developed for both groups of countries.
