Abstract

This article analyzes the "oil era" of Azerbaijan's socioeconomic development. It also examines the turning points and the main reasons for the decline in oil revenues. It also explores the need to create an "experimental sector" of the economy as a foundation for innovation and development. Encouraging initiative and harnessing the creativity of "folk art" will accelerate the process of lifting the economy out of depression.
